Every year, the Port of Long Beach presents its annual PHOTO Program in partnership with the Arts Council for Long Beach. Port professional photographers share photographic techniques and give local professionals and amateurs alike a chance to apply them on a special harbor tour. The best of these images, highlighting the hidden beauty of an industrial port, form a curated exhibition which will be featured at the Long Beach Museum of Art during the month of October.
Registration for the 2017 PHOTO Program will be open Wednesday, June 28 anytime between noon and 8 p.m. Only first-time participants will be eligible and participants will be selected via a lottery (not first-come/first-serve due to high demand). The link to enter the lottery will be available on June 28.
Tentative program dates:
Workshop: Saturday, July 22, 9 a.m.-noon
Tour: Saturday, July 29, 6-9 p.m.
Gallery Reception: Friday, Oct. 6, 6-8 p.m.
